About The Event
Experience the thrill of the slopes right in the GTA! Join us at Uplands for an unforgettable ski trip just 30-40 minutes away from both the East and West ends of the city. Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your skills, our sessions offer the perfect opportunity to conquer the snow. We recommend and highly encourage you to book a minimum of 3 sessions to gain mastery of skills and independence on the slopes. We will be offering 8 sessions for the season, every Friday from January 12th, 2024 to March 1st, 2024. Registration for each trip will close 1 week prior to the date.
With a vertical drop of some 100 feet and slopes of varying difficulty averaging 1,000 feet in length, Uplands has 6 different runs, a quad chairlift, and a magic carpet. It is the perfect environment to learn skiing or snowboarding for beginners of all ages—but especially for children.
All instructors are certified and use CSIA and CASI teaching methods that effectively develop skill and confidence in the skiers and snowboarders of all ages.

IMPORTANT - to complete your registration:
- You MUST fill out a waiver form
- You must know your height, weight, and boot size on the day of the trip
- You must choose one activity - snow boarding or skiing
- You must indicate your skill level
Students are assessed to determine and verify classification. Non-skiers/ snowboarders, etc. must have instruction prior to being permitted on the trails.
Who can ski or snowboard:
Everyone can ski or snowboard with the school program. The legal requirement for individuals to ride the chairlift/magic carpet unaccompanied by an adult is based on minimun height (not age) requirement of 3.6 feet, 44 inches or 110 centimetres. Parents are recommended to participate with small children to assist in facilitating their learning. You will receive a lift pass, rentals and lessons. You can choose one activity, either skiing or snowboarding.
Note: Lessons are included in the pass but are not mandatory, it is always a good idea to improve your skills. Students are assessed to determine and verify classification. Non-skiers/snowboarders, must have instruction prior to being permitted on the trails.
Rental equipment packages include skis, ski boots, and an alpine helmet. Snowboard rental equipment packages include a snowboard, snowboard boots, and an alpine helmet. Helmets are required for everyone under 18.
Have your own equipment? Then all you need is a lift pass so make sure to purchase the correct ticket. Everyone needs to wear a helmet.
All lessons taught at Uplands Golf & Ski Club, are taught by a licensed CSIA/CASI instructor. All instructors on staff are fully licensed Level 1, 2 or 3, and maintain up to date teaching methods/practices. Please be advised that these sports are not mastered in one day, and often times require multiple lessons to be able to independently perform these skills. All participants must be over 3.6 feet, 44 inches or 110 centimetres to be eligible to participate in the group lessons or participate unaccompanied by an adult. Those under this height must be accompanied one on one with an adult on the hill and chair lift/magic carpet in and outside of lesson time. You may purchase additional lessons from the club ($10+HST).
All participants under the age of 18, must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Waivers must be signed by a parent or guardian prior to arriving at Uplands. Uplands Golf & Ski Club does not provide additional care outside of designated lesson time or beyond the required duty of patrolling and maintaining hill safety.
Snack and lunch breaks may be taken in the Clubhouse building. You can use this area for prayers as well insha'Allah.
Can father's, family members, non tmh members, etc. attend?
All family members welcome!
A waiver form/parental consent must be filled and submitted for every student participating. Multiple dates of your visits can be entered on the form and does not need to be submitted each time.
Safety and Security
Please follow all rules. If you are under 17 and without an adult you can not go on the hills without the correct sticker. If you are caught doing so then you will be removed from the hill. 18+ are allowed on all hills and are responsible for their own choices. There are ski patrollers on the hills making sure everyone is being safe.
We ski rain or shine. Unless the snow conditions are not deemed favourable by the ski club directly. We pray for beautiful weather and ideal snow conditions.
Tickets are non-refundable as we need to maintain specific number of participants to receive a group discount. If you cannot make it, you are permitted to sell your ticket to someone else but please ensure that you inform us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
