About The Event
Experience the fascinating world of honeybees through interactive and engaging programs are age-appropriate and packed with fun. Students will enjoy learning from a professional beekeeper about the process of honey production from nectar to jar, and the inner workings of a honeybee colony.
Programs are crafted to inspire children's curiosity about the critical role of honeybees, children will develop a deeper understanding of honeybees and their importance to our environment and cultivate a love for nature that will stay with them for a lifetime. Â

Time: Experience starts promptly at 11:30am
Duration: approximately 90 minutes (likely to go over time)
Age: All ages program (3 years and under free)
Cost:Â $41/person and parents/supervisors free if they are not participating in the experience.

There will be various stations where the group can visit different areas to learn all about honeybees (and the resident farm animals too!). Stations would include:
- Parts of the hive, where everyone can see and hold the empty beekeeping equipment (no actual bees present), beekeeping tools and beekeeping suits
- Observation hive (here we will discuss the various roles of the honeybees and their life cycles)
- Honey harvesting station (experience uncapping honey, spinning the frames and jarring the honey). They will be able to take home a jar of honey with them.
- Guided visit for the whole group to our chickens and resident KuneKune pigs
You are welcome to bring your own picnic lunches and use the picnic tables on site afterwards. There is also a great educational hiking tract about 5 minutes south of the farm in Dufferin County Forest where they have informational plaques on the various trees in the forest. About 25 minutes north of the farm is Wasaga Beach.Â
