Gauss Math Contest ( hosted by the University of Waterloo)
TMH will be participating in The Gauss Math Contest, for students across North and South America. The Gauss Contests are an opportunity for students to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability and prepare for future contests in high school.

About The Event

TMH will be registering for the first time in the grade 7/8 Gauss Contest run by the University of Waterloo.
The Gauss Contests are an opportunity for students to have fun and to develop their mathematical problem solving ability. Participating in this contest will give students exposure to the format and provide them with insight and
experience to participate in future high school contests (Pascal, Cayley, Fermat, Fryer, Galaois, Hypatia) until they reach the grade 12 Euclid Contest.Â
Students who successfully reach the top 25 percentile of the Euclid grade 12 contest will receive a scholarship when applying to the Math department of the University of Waterloo.
Who can participate: Grade 7 and 8 students ( there will be different tests for each grade)

Price: $20/students ( limited spots)
Registration deadline: December 12th, 2021
Students who register with TMH will be registered as a group as a school by the teacher.Â
Class timings on zoom:
    - Grade 7: Sundays 9-10 am
   -  Grade 8: Sundays 10-11 am
Class dates: December 19th
                        January 16th and 30th
                        February 13th and 27th
                        March 13th and 27th
                        April 10th and 24th( Ramadan timing:  11am- 1pm)
                        May 15th ( last session before test)
Location and date of test: Â Test will be written between May 18th and 25th. Exact time and location TBA
Students and parents will join a google classroom where past Gauss tests will be posted. Students have access to the teacher for questions in areas they need help in. Â
The zoom sessions will be a chance for students to  learn concepts and theories related to test questions.
There will be mock tests to monitor the progress of students. Parents will have access to the progress.Â
Registration for the test in May will be completed by the teacher.Â
Once you have registered you will receive an email from the teacher, Nadia Akhtar, with further information on December 13th.
